Major League Baseball has Mike Trout. The NFL has Robert Griffin III. Both are widely recognized as future superstars in their respective sports. Both are regarded as the closest to a “sure thing” that you can get. In the ranks of F.I.G.H.T, there is one competitor who is held in the exact same regard. His name is Zizou Middoux.
For those who haven’t had a chance to witness this incredible athlete in action, you are missing out on witnessing a future superstar of Professional Wrestling. This South African competitor has the athleticism and charisma to become a huge success story in the wrestling world. Having already competed in parts of Africa, Europe and parts of the Middle East, Middoux made his United States debut for F.I.G.H.T and put on an impressive showing against area standout Bobby Shields. At the February 8th F.I.G.H.T event, “The Party Boy” put on yet another impressive performance against the 2013 King of Maryland Tournament Winner Skull to earn his first win in F.I.G.H.T. This should come as no surprise considering the bloodline of competitors he is linked to. He is the brother of former WWE Tag Team Champion Justin Gabriel, another successful South African competitor. It doesn't take a psychic to see that Zizou Middoux has a bright future ahead of him. Although it is uncommon to see someone with so much hype at such a young age in the wrestling business, Zizou Middoux would not be the first highly touted wrestling prospect. His opponent on June 21st was also heavily hyped when he started his career.
If you have followed independent wrestling for the past decade and a half, you have heard the name Christian York. Back in the late 90s Christian York was considered to be one of the fastest rising prospects in professional wrestling. The 3 major companies at the time all took notice. Christian York was quickly scouted and signed to compete for Extreme Championship Wrestling, competing on several Pay Per Views for the Philadelphia based company, and later signed to WCW and WWF developmental deals. By 2002, he was without a contract. It would be 10 more years until he appeared in the Gut Check Challenge, Stronger and more experienced to earn himself a contract with TNA Wrestling. On June 21st York finds himself in no longer in the role of the underdog, but rather the more experienced and accomplished veteran when he faces Zizou Middoux.
“I have experienced everything this kid has and much more in this business” said York. “He had better bring his A Game on June 21st because he is certainly going to need it to stand a chance against York Daddy.” A victory over Christian York could mean great things for the career of Zizou Middoux. “Do not think for a second that I am taking this opportunity lightly. Christian York is saying to bring A game. Not a problem as I plan on being better than my best come June 21st,” said Middoux “The Party Hardy tour will roll on and wont stop until I am at the top of this business.”
Who will come out of June 21st victorious, the cant miss prospect or the experienced veteran? Its been a little over a month since the last offering of F.I.G.H.T was to take place. Unfortunately, that did not happen due to weather predictions. To all who purchased tickets to this event, thank you for understanding in regards to the cancelation. To the majority who were to participate in the event who maintained professionalism during a chaotic day, thank you. The whole situation was a slight setback for F.I.G.H.T. But, by no means was it the death of this promotion. Enough about the past for now, its time to talk about the future.
Since December, every fan who has attended a F.I.G.H.T card has told us about how our events “ exceeded expectations” and how the talent organized for F.I.G.H.T events resemble “World-Class” athletes.
